Class 6A

We have a new No. 1 this week in Class 6A thanks to Olathe East’s 21-7 upset of Gardner-Edgerton. This week, Washburn Rural moves into the top spot in the poll. The Junior Blues are the only remaining unbeaten team in the classification.  See results from the remainder of last week’s game and the new rankings at the link below.

Class 5A

Defending champion Mill Valley dropped a 28-14 decision to 6A-ranked Olathe North. As a result, there is some movement in the Class 5A poll this week. Top-ranked Kapaun Mt. Carmel passed a road test at St. James Academy with a 35-14 win.  See how this week’s poll shakes out at the link below.

Class 4A

Top-ranked Bishop Miege and No. 2 St. Thomas Aquinas each won tough Eastern Kansas League battles this week. The Stags won at Blue Valley West, 21-13, while Aquinas edged Blue Valley, 10-7. Find out more about this week’s 4A poll comes in at the link below.

Class 3A

In one of the best games in recent memory, Cheney ended Andale’s 57-game winning streak with a 36-30 win in overtime. The Cardinals scored late and added the two-point conversion to tie the game at 30. In overtime, Cheney’s Jackson Voth batted down an Andale fourth-down halfback pass attempt. One play later, Voth jumped over a would-be tackler, then spun off of another and into the end zone for the dramatic game-winning score.  See results from the remainder of the ranked teams at the link below.

Class 2A

The Top 5 also remains the same this week setting up a huge upcoming week with some monumental matchups. Top-ranked Nemaha Central will travel to take on No. 2 Sabetha, while No. 4 Southeast of Saline will also hit the road to battle No. 5 Ellsworth. Class 1A

Like Class 2A above, the 1A poll remains the same this week with a big docket of games on the schedule for Week 8. A couple of district championships will be decided when No. 2 Marion takes on a good Sedgwick team and No. 5 Smith Center hits the road to take on Valley Heights. Class 8M-I

There are no changes in this week’s Eight-Man, Division I poll as four of the top five posted shutout victories. This week, No. 5 Central Burden will take on unbeaten South Sumner County to decide the District 4 title. In addition, No. 4 Atwood-Rawlins County will take on Hoxie (6-1) in a district championship game. Elsewhere, No. 2 Lyndon will take on Burlingame in another highlighted game.

Kpreps – Class 8M-I Rankings


Class 8M-II

In Eight-Man, Division II, top-ranked Axtell shut out then No. 4 Frankfort, 46-0, to extend their now-state best win streak to 33 games. Elsewhere, Minneola was impressive in outscoring Hodgeman County, 74-40. A new team enters the poll this week. Find out who by clicking on the link below.
