Class 6A
There is again no change in this week’s Class 6A poll. Top-ranked Manhattan survived a big test against Centennial League rival Washburn Rural and No. 2 Derby’s late interception preserved a close victory over Hutchinson. Defending champion Blue Valley Northwest fell 40-34 to Missouri Class 6 No. 3 Lee’s Summit North. Check out the remainder of the 6A poll below.
Class 5A
There are changes towards the bottom of this week’s Class 5A poll. Hays High moves up a couple of spots this week after defeating Garden City. Bishop Carroll and Hutchinson each suffered 7-point losses to 6A contenders but remain in this week’s poll.
Class 4A
Two-time defending champion St. James Academy leap back into the poll this week after a 24-20 victory over then No. 2 St. Thomas Aquinas. The victory was the first ever for the Thunder over the Saints. St. James opened 0-4 last season before winning nine straight games to claim their second consecutive Class 4A title.
Class 3A
Another week where the top five in Class 3A rolled to big victories. Fifth-ranked Rock Creek pulled away from Silver Lake for a 44-28 victory to claim their first Mid-East League title in 18 seasons.
Class 2A
Silver Lake’s loss to Rock Creek results in the Eagles dropping out of this week’s poll. There is now a new team in the top five this week. Find out which team enters the poll below.
Class 1A
Wabaunsee rallied from down 26-6 and 32-18 to then No. 2 Smith Center before the Chargers rallied for a 40-38 victory. As a result, Smith Center falls from this week’s poll. Class 8M-I
For the second consecutive week, we have a new team in the 8-Man, Division I poll. Burlingame leaps into the rankings after a 26-24 win over then No. 2 Chase County. The Bearcats continue a very challenging District 2 schedule this week against Cair Paravel. How does our poll shape up this week?
Class 8M-II
Dighton picked up a key district win over Hodgeman County, 42-12. The Hornets remain at No. 5 in this week’s poll. Find out how the remaining ranked teams faired last week at the link below.
Class 6-Man
