Over the next several weeks, Kpreps.com will begin releasing our 2016 Postseason Awards.

We have sent All-State nomination forms to all coaches and athletic directors and have already received several submissions from coaches across the state.

This year, we have made the difficult decision to end our Kpreps All-District teams.  We initially created the All-District honors as a way to recognize those players on teams that did not play enough leagues games to qualify for their respective all-league honors as the size of districts expanded in the smaller classifications. We now continually see the size of districts shrinking.  We've also been encouraged by the growing number of districts producing their own all-district team honors, and don’t feel the need to duplicate their efforts.

As you can imagine, selecting All-District teams was an enormous undertaking for our team each season, and we’ve, instead, decided to focus our resources on naming All-State teams in addition to other Kpreps postseason awards.

We will also select the grand prize winning photo of the Kpreps Friday Night Photo Contest. It’s been another successful season with the photo contest and Kpreps.com would like to thank the photographers from all over the state who participated throughout the 2016 season. For more information about the contest and prizes, visit the Friday Night Photo Contest page.

Last but not least, we are excited to announce the 6th annual Get Busy Livin’ - Kpreps Player of the Year Award to promote The Dylan Meier Foundation. The annual award selects one Kansas senior who not only has shown excellence on the field, but has also demonstrated the values that Get Busy Livin' (GBL) strives to promote: adventure, fitness, curiousity, generosity, and a daily zest for life experiences.

Nominations for the award will be accepted through December 15, 2016. Finalists will be selected by a committee made up of GBL and Kpreps representatives. Finalists will be featured on Kpreps.com and the winner will be presented the award at a school function in 2017.

If you have questions about the Kpreps awards process please feel free to contact Kpreps Managing Partner Matt Gilmore at matt@kpreps.com.
