The 2012 Kansas 8-Man Football Coaches Association All-Star games will be played this Saturday, June 9, in Beloit. The Division I game will start at 10 a.m. with the Division II game to follow at 1 p.m.
Each game features 40 of the state's best 8-Man football players from schools across Kansas consisting of squads representing the East and West sides of the state.
This will be the 27th annual of edition of the game which began in 1986. Initially the event featured only one game pairing teams from the North and South halves of Kansas. In 1995, the game evolved to an East versus West format, and in 2001 a second game was added separating the two divisions of 8-Man football played across the state.
Prior to 2001, the East held a 5-1 record against the West, while the South held a slight 5-4 advantage over the North in the early matchups. Since splitting into two divisions, the West holds a 7-4 advantage in the Division I game, while the East holds a similar 7-4 mark in the Division II game.
Saturday’s game will be broadcast live on KD County 94.1 Glen Elder/Beloit and is also available to listen live by visiting 8manallstars.com and clicking on the Listen Live link.
