Helmets and pads are being checked in, basketballs are being rolled out, and high school sports fans across the state are shifting their focus to winter sports. For the first time ever, Kpreps.com plans to provide regular coverage for Kansas high school sports this winter. As we expand into uncharted territory, it is important for us to outline our plans for covering winter and spring sports.
First of all, stay tuned for the best high school football content throughout the off-season. We will soon be releasing our post-season awards including our All-District and All-State teams and the Dylan Meier - Get Busy Livin' Player of the Year. Kpreps will again be a leader in recruiting information with player spotlights and comprehensive coverage of all Kansas signings this February.
We understand that taking on both girls and boys basketball and wrestling will be a monumental task this winter. A task that will require more than doubling the number of teams we cover as well as the number of games in the season. In doing so we are going to need your patience as we transition and build the infrastructure of our product for other sports.
In addition, we are going to need your help. We are looking to accumulate schedules for every boys and girls basketball team in the state in order to build Kpreps basketball into the resource it has become for football. We are also looking for volunteers to help us keep wrestling results as well as basketball scores and team records up to date and accurate. If you are willing to help us in this matter for your school or your league, contact us at basketball@kpreps.com or wrestling@kpreps.com.
In addition to available scores and schedules, our school pages will also feature an aggregate of headlines from various media outlets from around the state. We will also feature regular content in the form of special interest pieces, podcasts, and game of the week features.
Kpreps will continue producing our weekly statewide radio show which will be available for download every Friday. The show will be co-produced by Mytown Media and Kansas-Sports.com and will feature the latest in high school sports news.
Kpreps is proud to partner with the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA) and Kansas-Sports.com to bring fans state basketball rankings this winter. The top ten teams in all boys and girls classifications will be released every Monday during the 2013-14 season. We encourage all coaches to visit the KBCA at http://www.kansaskbca.com to register and participate throughout the season.
As more and more high school games are broadcast live through internet video, we feel it is important to promote this coverage to a statewide audience. Kpreps will continue working with 810 Varsity and Mytown Media to provide a video hub for fans to access games throughout the season. We plan to brand this service as KprepsTV and are looking for more media partners to get involved. If you will be broadcasting basketball games on internet video this winter and would like us to promote your events, please send us your schedule at basketball@kpreps.com.
Finally, we want to thank all of our supporters for helping to build Kpreps.com into the resource it has become today. We will make every effort to provide complete and accurate coverage for all sports in the state of Kansas. Again, we stress that we need your assistance and your patience as we transition into this process. Thank you and stay tuned!
