Several week six games featuring ranked opponents resulted in little change to the Kpreps.com rankings for week seven.

Perhaps the biggest upset of week six took place in Class 6A as Emporia knocked off then #3-ranked Junction City, 28-21.  The Blue Jays fall out of our top five this week, and are replaced by Dodge City which bested previously unbeaten Hays, 35-7.  Olathe East and Olathe North are both up one spot to #3 and #4 respectively in our 6A poll.

The feature game in Class 5A pitting #2 ranked Gardner-Edgerton and #3 McPherson resulted in a  49-42 shootout win for Gardner-Edgerton.  As a result, both teams held on to their #2 and #3 ranking, respectively.  The only change in the Class 5A poll involved Blue Valley – Stilwell and St. Thomas Aquinas trading places in the #4 and #5 spots by virtue of Aquinas’ 34-26 loss to Missouri Class 4’s #2-ranked Webb City Cardinals.  Aquinas and Blue Valley – Stilwell meet this week to kick off district play.

The 8 Man game of the year took place in Baileyville on Friday night as #1 B&B kicked a 25-yard field goal in overtime to knock off #2 Hanover, 31-28.  The two schools remain at #1 and #2 in our 8 Man Division II poll for week seven.  Otis-Bison remains at #3 with a 72-26 romp of Cunningham, while Ashland and Centre-Lost Springs swapped places at #4 and #5.

Finally in Class 2-1A, #1 Colgan struggled early but built a 19-8 halftime lead in eventually pulling away from Oswego 42-8.  The Indians fall one spot to #5 in our 2-1A poll, and this week face a must win against #3 Olpe in order to qualify for the playoffs.

Hill City is back in the 8 Man Division I poll with a 54-8 win over Sylvan-Lucas Unified.  The Ringnecks are ranked fifth, one spot behind Osborne which gave Hill City its only loss of the season.
