Kpreps – Rankings Week 6
It was a really quiet week with only four ranked teams losing in Week 6.

Class 6A
Blue Valley North used a 35-0 barrage of points in the second and third quarters to upset previous No. 5 Blue Valley Northwest. The Huskies were the only ranked team to lose in Class 6A this week. Only Gardner-Edgerton played a one-score game, holding off Shawnee Mission East, 20-15. Find out how the rest of the poll shapes up this week at the link below!
Class 5A
All five ranked teams rolled to big victories this week. In consecutive weeks, Spring Hill has shown they can win games with defense and by putting up a lot of points. After last week’s 24-0 shutout of Basehor-Linwood, the Broncos blitzed Shawnee Heights 76-35 behind a huge night from Maysen Dodson. Dodson has 379 yards of total offense and four touchdowns in the win. Find out how the rest of the poll shapes up this week at the link below!
Class 4A
Top-ranked Bishop Miege and No. 2 St. Thomas Aquinas both picked up impressive victories in close games. Miege built a two-score lead and held off Rockhurst (Mo.) 28-25. Aquinas rallied from down 17-7 to top Blue Valley, 27-24, and deliver Coach Randy Dreiling’s 300th career victory. One change in this week’s poll comes at the No. 5 spot as McPherson enters the poll to replace Tonganoxie. The Chieftains fell 17-12 at Rock Creek on Friday. Class 3A
Andale won the battle of No. 1 versus No. 2 this week topping Cheney, 34-25. The Indians won their 31st consecutive game in the process. Elsewhere, Wellsville won a muddy battle against previously unbeaten Santa Fe Trail, 17-6. Just outside the poll, Frontenac went to Girard and handled the Trojans 46-27 in a battle of unbeaten teams. Class 2A
The top five teams remained the same this week but three of them survived close games. Top-ranked Sabetha handed Riverside its first loss of the season, 28-21. Third-ranked Council Grove won a key district game over Marysville, 46-41, and Garden Plain picked up a district win at Douglass, 28-24.
Class 1A
The biggest test for Class 1A ranked teams last week came for No. 4 Rossville. The Bulldawgs passed with a 47-20 win over Royal Valley. Click on the Rankings tab to find out the complete results of this week’s poll.

Class 8M-I
In 8-Man, Division I, a team we put on upset alert last week, Central Plains, fell 34-28 to Kiowa County. Leoti-Wichita County dominated their game with unbeaten Elkhart, 54-0. Click on the Rankings tab to find out the complete results of this week’s poll.
Class 8M-II
Each of the ranked teams in Eight-Man, Division II were victorious this week against some quality opponents. Top-ranked Hanover handled Frankfort and No. 2 Axtell handed Troy its first loss of the season. Click on the Rankings tab to find out the complete results of this week’s poll.
Class 6-Man
Weskan went on the road and handed Cheylin its first loss of the season, 54-8. It was the third consecutive week the Coyotes faced an undefeated team and they finished 3-0 in those games. See how those results impacted this week’s 6-Man top five.
