The 2024 Kansas high school football season reached its conclusion last weekend as state champions were crowned in all nine classifications. Three schools were able to repeat as champions in 2024 (Gardner-Edgerton, Conway Springs, Axtell), while St. Thomas Aquinas won a state title for a second consecutive season - albeit in a new classificaiton. The Saints claimed the 5A state title this season after winning Class 4A last fall. Axtell claimed its fourth consecutive title in Eight-Man, Division II, while Gardner-Edgerton and Conway Springs went back-to-back in their classifications.
Three teams highlighted as preseason No. 1’s in the Kpreps.com rankings brought home state titles this fall: Andale (3A), Conway Springs (1A), and Axtell (8M-II). Three other classifications were won by teams ranked second in our preseason poll: Gardner-Edgerton in 6A, Andover Central in 4A, and Hoxie in Eight-Man, Division I. Finally, St. Thomas Aquians (5A) and Southeast of Saline (2A) were both ranked No. 3 in our pre-season poll, while Weskan (6-Man) was ranked No. 4 to start the season.
