Luke Bean (5-11, 220) DL, Kapaun Mt. Carmel (5A) A Kpreps 5A All-State selection on the defensive line, Bean helped lead Kapaun to an 8-3 record and a spot in the state quarterfinals. He rushed for 1,052 yards and 20 touchdowns as a fullback, and was a first-team Wichita City League selection on the defensive line. Bean also was a Wichita Eagle, first-team All Class 5A selection on the defensive line by the Wichita Eagle, and earned honorable mention by the Topeka Capital Journal. Luke will continue his career at Butler County Community College next fall.
Zach Binder (6-1, 240) OL, Hays (5A) A Kpreps 5A All-State selection on the offensive line, Binder helped lead the Indians to an 8-2 record and a berth in the state playoffs for the first time since 1995. Binder helped lead the way up front for talented junior running back David Cardinal who rushed for nearly 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns. Zach started for three years on both sides of the ball for Hays High, and recorded 158 career tackles on defense. He was named a three-time all WAC performer, and was named to the Class 5A all-state team on the offensive line by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. Binder plans to continue his playing career at Fort Hays State University.
Deante Burton (6-2, 200) WR/DB, Manhattan (6A) A Kpreps Class 6A All-State selection at defensive back, Burton is a versatile athlete that excels on both sides of the ball. On defense, Burton intercepted two passes and also returned two punt returns for touchdowns. On the offensive side, he caught 20 passes for 327 yards and five touchdowns, and added more than 200 yards rushing and three scores. He was named a first-team All Class 6A selection on at defensive back by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. Burton has signed to continue his career at Kansas State University.
Bradyn Butcher (6-1, 215) DE, Bishop Carroll (5A) Butcher was a first-team All Class 5A selection on the defensive line by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. Also named a Top 33 performer by the Wichita Eagle. Butcher has signed to continue his playing career at Butler County Community College this fall.
Dillon Call (5-11, 190) LB, Derby (6A) A two-time Kpreps 6A All-State selection at linebacker, Call helped the Panthers to the 6A state semifinals. He recorded 73 tackles and forced four fumbles for a Derby defense that surrendered 21.8 points per game. Call was named a Top 11 performer by the Wichita Eagle, and a Top 22 performer by the Topeka Capital Journal. Dillon was named a two time 6A all-state performer by each of those publications. Call signed to continue his career at Northwestern State (Okla.).
Joey Capul (6-1, 215) RB/LB, Garden Plain (3A) Capul received Kpreps 3A All-State honors at running back after leading Garden Plain through a tumultuous 11-2 season that ended in the state semifinals. Capul rushed for 1,544 yards and 22 touchdowns despite missing some time due to injury. In 2010, Joey rushed for more than 750 yards and tallied 67 tackles from his linebacker position. Capul was named a Top 22 performer as a running back and linebacker by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. He was named a 3A all state linebacker by the Wichita Eagle, and was a first-team running back on the Topeka Capital Journal all-state team. Capul competed in the inaugural Blue-Grey National All-Star Classic at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa (Fla.) on January 14th where he returned an interception 65 yards for a touchdown. He has signed to continue his career at Missouri Western State University.
Andrew Casey (6-1, 210) TE/LB, Plainville (2-1A) A Kpreps 2-1A All-State selection at linebacker, Casey logged 136 tackles (11.3 per game), two sacks, and forced and recovered three fumbles in leading the Cardinals to a 10-2 season and the state semifinals. He was named the Kpreps Class 2-1A Defensive Player of the Year last fall. As a junior in 2010, Casey recorded 80 tackles, intercepted two passes, and forced two fumbles. Casey was named 2-1A all-state at linebacker by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. He was also a unanimous All-Mid Continent League selection as both a tight end and linebacker. Casey will play for Dodge City Community College this fall.
Colborn Couchman (6-2, 195) RB/LB, Scott City (3A) A two-time Kpreps 3A All-State selection at defensive end, Couchman registered 87 tackles, 10 sacks, and a forced fumble for the Beavers. On offense, Couchman rushed for 1,242 yards and 22 touchdowns in leading Scott City to an 11-1 record and the state quarterfinals. As a junior in 2010, Couchman recorded 90 tackles, eight sacks, forced three fumbles, recovered two fumbles, blocked two kicks, and rushed for 507 yards and nine scores. For his career, Couchman rushed for 2,012 yards and 31 touchdowns, tallied 190 tackles, 18 sacks, and forced five fumbles. He was named an 3A all-state defensive lineman by both the Topeka Capital Journal and Wichita Eagle. Couchman will walk-on at Kansas State University this fall.
Jacob Davis (6-3, 235) LB, Wichita Northwest (6A) Named a 6A All-State linebacker by Kpreps, Davis recorded 111 tackles, three sacks, and forced two fumbles. As a junior in 2010, Jacob had 116 tackles and two interceptions while earning 6A All-State from the Wichita Eagle. This past fall, Davis was named a Top 22 performer by the Topeka Capital Journal, and a Top 33 performer by the Wichita Eagle. Davis also was a first-team All Class 6A selection at linebacker by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. In January, he played in the Max Emfinger All-American Bowl Game in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Davis has signed to continue his career at FCS National Champion North Dakota State.
BJ Dean (6-0, 185) QB/DB, Pratt (4A) Dean rewrote the school's record book during his time as a Greenback. In 2011, he threw for 1,923 yards and 11 touchdowns in Coach Forrest Mazey's spread offense. Dean completed 174 of his 344 pass attempts, but was equally effective on the ground in rushing for nearly 600 yards and nine touchdowns. Also a standout baseball player, he has signed to play football and baseball at Dodge City Community College.
Derrick Decker (6-5, 210) QB/DB, Rose Hill (4A) Decker earned Kpreps 4A All-State recognition after leading the Rockets to their first ever state football championship. The senior quarterback rushed for 1,526 yards and 15 touchdowns, while throwing for 1,123 yards and 13 scores. He also recorded 132 tackles on defense from his defensive back position earning him the Kpreps 4A Defensive Player of the Year honors. Decker was named a Top 22 performer by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. He received 4A all-state honors at defensive back by both of those publications. In February, Decker signed to play for the Division II National Champion Pittsburg State Gorillas.
Jacob English (6-5, 280) OL, Beloit (3A) The future Wyoming Cowboy was a Kpreps Class 3A All-State selection on the offensive line last fall. English helped the Trojans to a 9-3 record and a state quarterfinal finish. He was also named a 3A all-state offensive lineman by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. Jacob received Top 33 honors by the Wichita Eagle and was named a Top 22 performer by the Topeka Capital Journal.
Tanner Fisher (5-9, 185) RB, Buhler (4A) A two-time Kpreps 4A all-state selection at running back, Fisher rushed for 2,282 yards and 37 touchdowns this fall in leading Buhler to the state quarterfinals. As a junior, Tanner rushed for 2,360 yards and 40 scores. For his career, Fisher eclipsed the 5,000-yard mark rushing with 85 touchdowns. He was named a Top 11 performer by both the Topeka Capital Journal and Wichita Eagle after earning Top 22 honors as a junior. He also was named first-team All Class 4A at running back by both publications. Fisher will continue his playing career at Butler County Community College this fall.
Trey Hallman (5-11, 180) WR/DB, Dodge City (6A) Hallman was an honorable mention All Class 6A selection at wide receiver by the Wichita Eagle. He caught 34 passes for 418 yards and two touchdowns last fall for the Red Demons. On defense, Trey finished with 40 tackles, registered a sack, and blocked a kick. He has signed to play at Butler County Community College this fall.
Jordan Hart (6-1, 175) WR, McPherson (5A) A Kpreps Class 5A All-State selection at wide receiver, Hart registered 76 receptions for 1,481 yards and 14 touchdowns. Hart also rushed for four touchdowns, and returned four kicks for scores. He was also a first-team All Class 5A selection at wide receiver by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. Hart will continue his career play at Washburn University.
Jared Herl (6-4, 225) TE/LB, Ellis (2-1A) A Kpreps 2-1A All-State selection at tight end, Herl caught 16 balls for 310 yards and five touchdowns in limited time due to injury. For his career, Herl had 55 receptions for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also registered 272 total tackles in his career with three interceptions, three sacks, six forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries. In his four years at Ellis, the Raileroaders posted a 29-15 record and four consecutive playoff appearances. Herl was named an honorable mention all 2-1A performer at tight end and linebacker by the Topeka Capital Journal and Wichita Eagle. Herl will continue his career at nearby Fort Hays State University.
Truitt Kuhlmann (5-11, 190) RB/DB, Smith Center (3A) Kuhlmann rushed for 2,009 yards and 34 touchdowns this season on 179 carries earning the Kpreps 3A Offensive Player of the Year Award. He was also named to the Kpreps 3A All-State team as a running back. In the defensive backfield, Truitt totaled 68 tackles and picked off six passes. He was also a dynamic kick returner for the Redmen this fall. He was named a 3A all-state running back by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle this season. As a junior in 2010, Kuhlmann was named to the Kpreps 3A All-State team as a defensive back, but also rushed for 969 yards and 17 scores that season. Kuhlmann will continue his football career at Fort Hays State University.
Colten Lissolo (6-4, 230) OL/DL, Hugoton (4A) A defending state champion wrestler, Lissolo controlled the offensive and defensive line for Hugoton on the gridiron. He helped pave the way for an Eagle offense that produced 2,579 rushing yards this season with an average of nearly 6.5 yards per carry. On defense, Lissolo registered 103 tackles, a sack, and two fumble recoveries. He recorded 110 tackles, including 12 tackles for loss as a junior in 2010. Lissolo will compete in the inaugural Blue-Grey National All-Star Classic at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa (Fla.) on January 14th. He received honorable mention all-state recognition as a lineman by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. He will continue his football career at Hutchinson Community College.
Gabe Luna (6-3, 265) OL/DL, Garden City (6A) A 6A All-State selection by Kpreps, Luna was a two-way starter for Garden City this fall. He helped the Buffaloes reach the playoffs where they fell to eventual runner-up Wichita Heights. Luna registered 57 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and six sacks for the 7-3 Buffs. Despite his solid numbers on defense, he thrived on the O-line where he was named a first-team All Class 6A selection by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. Luna will continue his career playing football at Butler County Community College this fall.
Jarrod Nickelson (6-1, 190) RB/DB , Clearwater (4A) Nickelson received honorable mention all-state recognition as a running back and defensive back by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. He was named co-offensive MPV of the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division IV, and also received first-team honors at defensive back. Nickelson rushed for more than 1,000 yards in leading the Indians to an 8-2 record and a trip to the 4A playoffs. Nickelson will continue his career at Hutchinson Community College this fall.
Darius Peterson (6-6, 260) OL/DL, Salina South (5A) An imposing figure at 6-6, 260 pounds, Peterson earned Kpreps 5A All-State honors on the offensive line this past fall. He was also named a first team 5A offensive lineman by the Topeka Capital Journal, and received honorable mention all state honors from the Wichita Eagle. This will mark the fourth straight season a Salina South player has participated in the Shrine Bowl. Peterson will continue his playing career at Hutchinson Community College.
Matt Reed (5-11, 180) QB, Wichita Heights (6A) Reed was a Kpreps 6A All-State quarterback after rushing for 1,240 yards and 19 touchdowns while throwing for more than 800 yards and 12 scores. Reed finished 30-2 as a starting quarterback and led the Falcons to three consecutive trips to the 6A state title game – winning the championship in 2010. For his career, Reed rushed for more than 2,800 yards and 40 touchdowns, while throwing for over 1,500 yards and 23 more scores. He was named a Top 11 performer and a 6A all-state selection at quarterback by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. Reed played in the inaugural Blue-Grey National All-Star Classic at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa (Fla.) on January 14th. Reed is also a defending state champion wrestler at 160 pounds, and will wrestle in college at the University of Oklahoma.
Kole Schankie (6-1, 190) RB/DB, Madison (8M-I) A two-time Kpreps 8 Man-I All-State selection at running back, Schankie was a key piece in Madison's back-to-back state title runs. Kole finished his career with 4,907 yards rushing and 120 touchdowns while averaging 10 yards per carry. This season, he scored 50 touchdowns and rushed for 2,133 rushing yards, including nearly 1,000 yards in the playoffs alone. Those totals garnered him Kpreps 8 Man-I Offensive Player of the Year honors. He totalled 262 and 232 yards in the 2010 and 2011 state title games, respectively. As a defensive back, Schankie caused 24 career turnovers and logged 291 tackles. Schankie was recognized as a Top 33 performer and all-state running back by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. Kole was also honored as the inaugural Dylan Meier - Get Busy Livin' Player of the Year Award winner. Schankie will continue his career playing for nearby Emporia State University.
Joe Schrock (6-3, 235) OL/DL, Hutchinson Trinity (3A) A two-time Kpreps 3A All-State selection on the defensive line, Schrock registered 92 tackles, seven sacks, and two fumble recoveries this season. As a junior in 2010, Joe recorded 100 tackles, 10 sacks, and recovered two fumbles as the Celtics finished 10-2 and reached the state quarterfinals. Joe finished his Trinity career with 258 tackles and 18 sacks. Schrock received honorable mention all-state recognition as a lineman by the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. Schrock plans to continue his football career at Hutchinson Community College.
Matt Seiwert (6-2, 255) OL/DL, Conway Springs (3A) Seiwert was named to the Kpreps 3A All-State team this season after leading the Cardinals to the state championship. After moving from fullback to offensive line, Matt helped pave the way for an offense that rushed for more than 5,500 yards and included a pair of 1,700-yard rushers in Brian Doffing and Cory Misak. Seiwert is also a standout defensive lineman, having recorded 63 tackles, and three sacks. Seiwert was named a Top 11 performer and a 3A all-state selection by both the Topeka Capital Journal and Wichita Eagle. He is also a two-time Central Plains League first-team defensive selection. Matt has signed to continue his playing career at Kansas State.
Collin Sexton (6-0, 175) WR/DB, Abilene (4A) A Kpreps 4A All-State selection at wide receiver, Sexton caught 51 passes for 924 yards and 10 touchdowns. Also a standout performer at defensive back, Sexton recorded 129 tackles this season and eight interceptions. For his career, Collin caught 75 passes for 1,432 yards and 15 touchdowns, and registered 216 tackles and picked off 15 passes. Sexton was a first-team All Class 4A selection at wide receiver by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. He is expected to walk-on at Kansas State University this fall.
Bradan Smith (5-11; 175) RB , Wichita Southeast (6A) Smith was an honorable mention All Class 6A selection at running back by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. He eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark during the 2011 season and rushed for 14 touchdowns. Also a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield, he had over 400 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Bradan was also a member of Southeast's state champion 1,600 meter relay team.
Joel Struckhoff (6-0, 175) RB/DB, Thunder Ridge (8M-II) A two-time Kpreps Eight-Man, Division II All-State selection at running back, Struckhoff rushed for more than 2,300 yards and 43 touchdowns this season in leading the Longhorns to the schools' first football title. He was named the Kpreps 8 Man-II Offensive Player of the Year. Joel broke the Kansas 8-Man record for career rushing yards and touchdowns, finishing with 6,916 yards and 127 touchdowns. He was named a Top 11 performer and 8-man all-state selection by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. Struckhoff plans to continue his career at Dodge City Community College.
Trent Stucky (5-11, 180) QB, Sedgwick (3A) Stucky earned 3A all-state honors at quarterback by Kpreps, the Topeka Capital Journal, and the Wichita Eagle. He led Sedgwick to a 10-1 record and the school's first ever 11-man playoff victory. This season, Trent threw for 2,100 yards and 24 touchdowns while rushing for 1,150 yards and 14 scores. For his career, Stucky threw for more than 4,800 yards, rushed for more than 3,700 yards, and accounted for more than 100 combined touchdowns. He compiled a 23-7 record as a three-year starter at quarterback. Stucky was named a Top 22 performer by the Wichita Eagle, and a Top 33 performer by the Topeka Capital Journal. Stucky will continue his career at Butler County Community College.
Tayler Stull (6-1, 170) QB/DB, La Crosse (2-1A) A Kpreps 2-1A All-State quarterback, Stull led La Crosse to its first ever state football championship game, falling to Centralia in overtime. The senior rushed for 1,244 yards and 23 scores, while passing for 996 yards and 13 touchdowns. For his career, Stull rushed for 3,182 yards and 52 touchdowns, and passed for 2,660 yards and 41 scores. Stull was named Class 2-1A defensive back by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. On the defensive side of the ball, Tayler registered 43 tackles, one sack, and four interceptions. Stull has signed to play football and run track at Bethany College this fall.
Najahaun Tipton-Wylie (5-6, 230) DL, Hutchinson (5A) A Kpreps 5A All-State selection on the defensive line, Tipton-Wylie turned in a stellar season for the Salthawks. He recorded 95 total tackles and 12 sacks in helping Hutchinson to the 5A state title. He was named the Kpreps 5A Defensive Player of the Year, and earned the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League – Division I defensive MVP. He also received Top 11 and all 5A honors from the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. He plans to continue his football career at Hutchinson Community College.
Tyler Uselton (6-3, 325) OL, Great Bend (5A) A Kpreps 5A All-State selection on the offensive line, Uselton's size and ability allowed him to see the field all four years for the Panthers on Friday nights. Uselton was also named first-team All Class 5A on the offensive line by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. Tyler has signed to continue his playing career at Butler County Community College.
Cody Weston (6-4, 270) OL, Maize South (4A) Weston was a first-team All Class 4A selection on the offensive line by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. He is the first Shrine Bowl selection in the short history of Maize South High School. Weston signed to continue his football career at Emporia State University this fall.
Dominik White (6-0, 210) LB, Junction City (6A) White was a Kpreps 6A All-State selection at linebacker last fall in leading Junction City to a 6-3 record. He was a first-team All Class 6A selection at linebacker by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. He has signed to continue his career at Butler County Community College.

Trace Clark (6-5, 240) TE/DE, Wichita Collegiate (3A) A Kpreps 3A all-state performer on the defensive line, Clark registered 106 tackles, six sacks, and three forced fumbles this fall. He also had more than 300 receiving yards and three touchdowns as a tight end for the Spartans. Clark was named a Top 11 performer by both the Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle in addition to being named to the 3A all-state teams by those respective publications. Clark will play at Oklahoma State next season.
Josh Jarnagin (5-11, 175) RB/DB, Ulysses (4A) Jarnagin earned Kpreps 4A All-State honors at defensive back after leading the Tigers to an 11-2 season and a spot in the state quarterfinals. He also received first-team, all-state honors as a running back by the Topeka Capital Journal, and received honorable mention all-state recognition from the Wichita Eagle. Jarnagin amassed nearly 2,300 yards rushing at Ulysses with 48 touchdowns, despite battling injuries and missing time this season. He also had more than 400 receiving yards and seven more scores, and returned a total of five kicks/punts for touchdowns. Jarnagin has signed to play at Division II National Champion Pittsburg State.
Coaches:
Brian Hill, Garden City (6A) – Hill is entering his third season at Garden City and has posted a 12-8 record.
Brandon Clark, Derby (6A) – Clark is entering his seventh season as head coach at Derby. He has posted a 47-28 record during that time.
Ryan Cornelson, Hays (5A) – Cornelson enters his fourth season at Hays High after a stop as head coach at La Crosse. He has posted a 22-6 record at Hays, and has ran his overall record to 75-19.
Greg Slade, Rose Hill (4A) – Coach of the 4A state champion Rockets, Slade has posted a 92-56 recorded at Rose Hill. He has also led the Rockets to a 4A state runner-up finish in 2004.
Matt Beihler, Conway Springs (3A) – Beihler is entering his fourth season as head coach of the Cardinals. During that time, he has posted a 36-3 record, a state runner-up, and won the 3A state championship last season.
Jon Webster, La Crosse (2-1A) – Webster is entering his fourth season as head of the Leopards. During that time he has posted a 29-5 record including a runner-up finish in 2011.
