Week 3 marks the start of district play in Kansas. That's right, four 8M-I and five 8M-II districts have begun the race for the playoffs. Be sure to check out our Districts standings page to see which 8 Man teams started on the right track.

In a battle of ranked teams in class 5A, #5 Bishop Miege completely shut down #4 Gardner-Edgerton's running game and took advantage of multiple Trailblazer turnovers in a 34-0 romp.

In the Kpreps Game of the Week, 4A #5 Paola only lead 14-12 in the third quarter before pulling away from Pittsburg to win 35-12. Tyler Henness scored three touchdowns for the Panthers in a game that was much closer than the final score.

Plainville proved worthy of its #5 ranking in class 2-1A by taking it to the Norton Bluejays 53-13. This sets up a huge match-up next week with Smith Center, a 60-14 victor over Ellis. The winner of that one will be in the driver's seat for the Mid-Continent League title.

In one of the best games in the state, Junction City beat Salina South 33-28. The Cougars have now lost two straight by a total of just 7 points.

St. James Academy is now 3-0 after knocking off defending 4A champion Louisburg 33-19.

Great Bend scored with 19 seconds left to edge Garden City, 14-7.
