Breaking down the rankings:
6A
Wichita South (19-1), who won 6A last season, is once again the number one team. South hasn't lost since December 10th to 5A Kapaun.
5A
Leavenworth is the new number one team in 5A girls. At 19-1 the Pioneers only loss this season came to Olathe South, who is ranked second in 6A.
4A-I
Not much has changed here with the Red Raiders of Wamego (20-0) still in the top spot. Topeka Hayden (15-4), who is ranked third, is in the same substate as Wamego.
4A-II
Defending 3A champion, Burlington (18-1), remains at the top spot in this brand new classification. The Wildcats only loss came before holiday break to 4A-I Louisburg. Look for #4 Frontenac (17-2) to also be a contender.
3A
#1 Hesston (18-1) hasn't lost in over a month, which was to 4A-I #1 Wamego.
2A
#1 Jeff County North ended its regular season at a perfect 20-0. The Chargers, who took second last year, are beating opponents by 41.9 points per game.
1A-I
Back-to-back state champion, Hoxie, has won 66 straight and seems to the favorite once again.
1A-II
Baileyville B&B (18-3) remains the number one team in 1A-II.
