Breakdown of Rankings:
6A
The biggest surprise of this weeks rankings is defending 6A state champion Blue Valley Northwest being knocked off by rival Blue Valley North on Friday. Northwest, who was ranked as high as 17th in the country, moves down to the third spot in the rankings. Olathe East (1) and Lawrence (2) continue to impress as they move up a spot in this weeks rankings. SM East (10) is new to the rankings this week and is coming off a victory on Friday over out of state rival Rockhurst (Mo.).
5A
Hays (1) and Lansing (2) hold on to the top two spots in this classification. Higland Park moved up a spot to take over the three spot from Goddard-Eisenhower (4). No new teams to this week's top ten in 5A, just a little bit of movement to the ten that were ranked.
4A-I
Baldwin remains at the top spot in this brand new division, along with two other Frontier League Members in Ottawa (5), and Paola (8). McPherson (2), Basheor-Linwood (3), and KC-Piper (4) round out this weeks top five. The top ten remained identical to last weeks.
4A-II
#1 Scott City remains undefeated against Kansas opponents on the year. The 3-time defending 3A state champion is use to playing bigger competition, so the new 4A-II division shouldn't phase them too much. No new changes as Andale (2), Concordia (3), Eudora (4) and Wichita Trinity (5) round out this division this week.Iola (10) is the only new team to crack this week's top ten.
3A
Hesston remains atop of this classification once again. Eureka (2), Sabetha (3), Beloit (4) and Holcomb (5) round out this weeks top five. Council Grove at the sixth spot is a team to look out for behind the play of all-state candidate Aaron Bachura (25+ ppg). Minneapolis (10) is the only new team this week to crack the top ten.
2A
We've said it all year about how loaded this division looks to be and it still seems to be. St. John remains at the #1 spot and is the absolute favorite by many in this division. The Tigers won 1A-I last season and haven't seem to miss a beat. Oswego (2) is playing solid at the two spot behind the play of senior Tag Oldham. Central Plains at the three spot is also a contender, with their only two losses coming to St. John. Colgan may be ranked eighth, but the Panthers are undefeated against Kansas opponents. Their losses have came to schools in Missouri with a much larger enrollment.
1A-I
MDCV remains at the top spot once again in this classification. Hanover (2), Hoxie (3), Valley Heights (4) and Stockton (5) round out this weeks top five. Spearville (10) is the only new team to crack this weeks top 10.
1A-II
Beloit St. Johns Tipton remains at the top spot in the 1A-II division. They feature a lot of talented athletes this season, as proved in football. South Barber (2), Wallace County (3), Fowler (4), and Axtell (5) round out this weeks top five. Axtell, the defending state champion, is the team to watch out for behind the play of senior Payton Heinen (6-6 Forward/Center).
