Breaking down the Rankings...
6A
The top two spots remain exactly the same this week with defending 6A girls champion Wichita South (1) and Maize (2) leading the way. Cracking the top five this week was Blue Valley North (4) and Manhattan (5). Topeka High and Olathe Northwest were two new teams this week to crack the top 10 at the nine and ten spots. 5A
The top five of 5A girls remain exactly the same, only difference was the switch up of the top two spots. Kapaun takes over the top spot from defending 5A champion St. Thomas Aquinas, who goes down to number two. Kapaun is dominating opponents on the season, winning by an average of 32.8 points per contest. View full list
4A-I
No movement in the 4A-I girls top three spots with Wamego (1), Fort Scott (2), and Paola (3) all holding on to their position. Miege moved up a spot to the four spot, while Topeka-Hayden (5) cracked the top five this week. This division should be interesting this season as we are in the first year of its existence. Wamego girls won the last title in the 4A division, before the classes were split into two divisions. The all state Page sisters, Lanie (16.0 ppg), who is a junior, and Kaylee (15.0), who is a senior, lead the Red Raiders. No new teams cracked the top 10 this week. View full list
4A-II
Top six positions in 4A-II girls remained identical to last week. Santa Fe Trail, who won the first ever 4A-II state volleyball title this fall, leads the classification at the one spot. Senior Shelby Dahl leads the Chargers by averaging 18 points per contest. Holton dropped out of this week’s top ten after picking up two losses (SFT, Sabetha) after the holiday break. Russell (10) was the only new team to become ranked this week. View full list

The top two spots remain the same in the 3A girls division with Hesston (1) and Riley County (2) maintaining their spots. Holcomb (3) and Marysville (4) remain in the top five although with a little movement. Douglass moved up a spot this week to make the five spot. Sabetha, the only new team to this week’s rankings, is back in the top 10 at the 10 spot. View full list
2A
If you looked at last week’s 2A girls rankings, then no need to look at this week’s. The top ten remains identical to last week. Hillsboro, Jeff County North and Sterling are the top three ranked teams in this classification. The second ranked Chargers of Jeff County North are dominating opponents, winning by an average of 36.4 points per game. This classification looks to have a lot of serious contenders in the top 10. 1A-I
1A-I girls had a little bit of shake up of its top ten, but not much. Defending state champion Hoxie remains atop of this classification. Valley Heights (2), Spearville (3), and Osborne (4) all remain in the top five. New to this weeks top five is Centre (5), who moved up one spot from last week’s rankings. Out of the top ten this week is St. Paul, while Victoria (8) becomes the only new team to this week’s rankings. View full list
1A-II
1A-II has a new ranked team at the top and it’s the Falcons of Baileyville B&B. B&B, who closes its doors at the end of the school year to consolidate with Nemaha Valley, also won the state volleyball championship this past fall. Top five remains the same with some movement. Cunningham (9) and Ashland (10) are the two new teams to this week’s top 10. View full list
