8-Man Division I

Five of the classification’s eight districts have already started, and the standings are starting to take shape.

We’ll know even more after this week with several games expected to have a big impact on which teams will advance to the playoffs.

Both 2-0 in district play, Lakeside-Downs and Clifton-Clyde face off Friday in a District 4 East showdown.

8-Man Division I’s top-ranked Pretty Prairie Bulldogs (4-0 overall, 1-0 district) will battle the Macksville Mustangs (3-1, 2-0) in a key game for District 5 West.

District 3 East competition opens with a huge game between two of the district’s three unbeaten teams. Friday’s winner between the Burlingame Bearcats (4-0 overall) and the No. 3-ranked Lebo Wolves (4-0) will have the lead in a district that includes the No. 2-ranked Madison Bulldogs (4-0).

Note: Since the expanded districts have caused fewer players from the smaller classifications to earn all-league honors, Kpreps.com and Kansas Pregame are planning to team up to honor players with the creation of all-district teams for Class 2-1A, 8-Man Division I and 8-Man Division II.
