• Sedan (3-1) – a traditional playoff contender, the Blue Devils are in the first year of 8 Man competition. Brady McCoy and Sam Powell lead a balanced Sedan rushing attack.
• Cedar Vale-Dexter (2-2) – In the first year of the two schools combined, the Spartans are averaging 29 points per game while giving up 31 points. They will open districts with favorites Sedan and Central Burden in consecutive weeks beginning in week five.
• Central Burden (2-2) – Raider QB Bo Savage has already thrown for 1,204 yards and 18 touchdowns after throwing for 2,198 yards and 36 TDs a season ago. Ky Biddle has 34 receptions for 478 yards and 8 TDs, while Kolton Price has 31 receptions for 364 yards and 7 TDs.
• Udall (2-2) – after scoring just 30 total points in their first two games, the Eagles have exploded for 72 and 56 points in respective weeks. Colton Witte has lead Udall with 316 yards rushing and five touchdowns.
• Oxford (1-3) – after a 52-6 opening week win over Attica, the Wildcat defense has struggled in giving up 53 points per game over the last three weeks.
• West Elk (1-3) – Seth Miller and Levi McGee have led the Patriots rushing attack with over 230 yards each. The Pats defense will have to improve as they’ve surrendered 47 points per game in their three losses.

• Colony Crest (3-1) – the Lancers were undefeated and averaging 49 points per game before being shutout 46-0 by Madison. Kyle Hammond leads the Crest offense in rushing and passing.
• Chetopa (2-2) – the Green Hornets snapped a 12-game losing streak with an opening week win over Altoona-Midway. Dylan Price had thrown for over nearly 600 yards and 10 touchdowns in Chetopa’s first three games.
• Marmaton Valley (2-2) – the Wildcats have given up 49 points per game including 82 to Lebo in week one and 54 last week to Marais des Cygnes Valley.
• St. Paul (2-2) – the Indians’ two losses have come to unbeatens Lebo and Burlingame. Riley O’Brien rushed for 235 yards and five touchdowns in a week four win over Altoona-Midway.
• Pleasanton (1-3) – the Blu-jays had lost 13 straight games before beating Miami, Mo., 20-14 in week four. Pleasanton has scored exactly 20 points in three of their four games.
• Yates Center (1-3) – the Wildcats broke a 16-game losing streak with a 52-28 win over West Elk in week four. Yates Center is in its first season of 8 man football. 

• Madison (4-0) – The Bulldogs have been winning with defense as Madision has yet to allow a point entering district play while outscoring their opponents 189-0. The Bulldogs feature a balanced rushing attack led by Kole Schankie.
• Burlingame (4-0) – Senior running back Jason Clem has carried 37 times for 581 yards for an average of 15.7 yards per carry. Ty Lang also has big game capability as shown in a 207-yard, 5-TD performance in week four.
• Lebo (4-0) – Talented junior QB Trevor White leads a Wolves offense that averages 53 points per game.  White has completed 60 percent of his passes for over 300 yards and seven touchdowns.
• Marais des Cygnes Valley (3-1) – the Trojans are 3-1 after averaging 51 points per game. Zack Goodrich has led the Trojans with 588 yards and eight touchdowns.
• Southern Coffey Co. (2-2) – Travis Bryan has led the Titans with 232 yards and six touchdowns on the season. The Titans have averaged 40 points per game in winning two straight.
• White City (1-3) – the Huskies have scored just 8 points per game in all three of their losses. The lone White City win came 36-16 over St. John’s Military.

• Clifton-Clyde (3-1) – After a surprising 40-6 loss to Axtell, the Eagles got back on track by dispatching of Pike Valley and Rock Hills. Alex Deaver has rushed for more than 700 yards and 11 scores thus far this season.
• Lakeside-Downs (3-1) – The Knights have averaged 55 points per game this season with their only loss coming 46-42 to Osborne in week one. Miles Thomas has led Lakeside with 450 yards and nine touchdowns.
• Mankato – Rock Hills (3-1) – The Grizzlies have scored 56 points per game thus far, but the defense gave up 52 in a 12 point loss to Clifton-Clyde in week four. Jarrett Christie and Aaron Broeckelman lead Rock Hills in rushing.
• Wakefield (3-1) – The Bombers have averaged 52 points per game in their three wins. Cole McGee has led Wakefield with 460 yards rushing in five scores.
• Southern Cloud (2-2) – After opening the season with consecutive shutouts, the Warrior defense is searching for their identity. Southern Cloud has given up 124 points in their last two games.
• Pike Valley (1-3) – The Panthers’ schedule has to get easier.  Pike Valley opened with three losses to state powers Hanover, B&B, and Clifton-Clyde before earning their first win over Northern Valley in week four.
• Blue Valley Randolph (1-3) – the Rams have surrendered 57 points per game in their three losses. Randolph has a balanced rushing attack featuring Jason Drouillard, Kalon Gudenkauf, and Jacob Nelson. 

• Pretty Prairie (4-0) – Daniel Krehbiel and the Bulldogs have given up just 16 total points this season. Krehbiel has rushed for 326 yards and six touchdowns, while QB Hunter Pittman has thrown for 397 yards and eight scores.
• Kiowa County (3-1) – Ross Bindford has already rushed for 1,034 yards and 19 touchdowns for the Mavericks. Kiowa County is averaging 52 points per game with their only loss coming 24-20 to South Gray. 
• Macksville (3-1) – The Mustangs have averaged over 43 points per game under first year head coach Jeff Kuckleman.Adam Oak scored touchdowns rushing, receiving, and on defense in the week four win over South Central.
• St. John (3-1) – The Tigers have been one of the surprise teams in division one with their 44-36 upset over Quivira Heights. St. John has averaged 47 points per game in their three wins.
• Fairfield (2-2) – The Falcons’ two wins have come against teams that are a combined 1-7. Fairfield has only scored eight points per game in each of their losses. 
• Pratt Skyline (2-2) – After opening the season with wins over Stafford and Cunningham, the T-birds have been outscored by 68 total points in losses to Kiowa County and St. John.
• South Central (1-3) – South Central has given up 56 points per game in their three losses, but those opponents are a combined 10-2. 

• Jetmore-Hodgeman Co. (4-0) – The Longhorns feature running back Evan Kreger who made headlines with a 10 touchdown performance in week one. The combination of traditional powers Jetmore and Hanston should be a tough out come playoff time.
• Deerfield (3-1) – The Spartans opponents thus far are a combined 3-13. Things will get much tougher for Deerfield in week five as they take on Jetmore-Hodgeman County.
• South Gray (3-1) – The Rebels lone loss came to district foe Hodgeman County 46-36. South Gray has averaged 43 points per game behind the legs of Coulter Croft.
• Kinsley (2-2) – Kinsley’s two wins have come against winless teams in Western Plains and Minneola. The Coyotes’ Chase Young rushed for 266 yards in a 14 point loss to Hodgeman County.
• Ness City (1-3) –Ness City is off to a 1-3 start in their first season back in the 8 man ranks after ending their co-op with Dighton. Two of the Eagle’s losses are to one-loss Victoria and unbeaten Hill City.
• Spearville (0-4) – After two close losses to South Central and Ingalls to open the year, the Royal Lancers have suffered blow out losses to Ashland and South Gray.
• Minneola (0-4) – The Wildcats defense has struggled to say the least; giving up 57 points per game through their first four contests.

• Hill City (4-0) – Hill City is 4-0 for the first time since 1975 and enjoying one of the most successful football seasons in school history. Ringneck QB Reggie Jordan has rushed for 966 yards and averages 26 points per game while defensive end Tyler Bess has four sacks.
• Sylvan-Lucas Unified (4-0) –Fullback Eric Nitsch has rushed for 552 yards and 16 touchdowns through four games while Brandon Pool has added 381 yards and three touchdowns. The Mustangs got a key district win in week three of the season over last year's 8-Man I State Champs, Quinter.
• Osborne (3-1) – Osborne has matched their win total of a year ago through only four games. Osborne features a speedy backfield with multiple threats including running back Damon Schurr (13 total touchdowns), Justin Pruter (5 TDs), Jakob Demars (3 TDs), and quarterback Ethan Slothower (5 total touchdowns).
• Quinter (3-1) – Logan Reed and Joe Simon are two of only three returning starters from Quinter’s 2009 championship team. Through four games Reed has 466 yards rushing and four touchdowns while Simon has 530 yards rushing and 10 scores.
• Hoxie (2-2) –  After scoring 44 points in each of their first two wins, the Indians have scored only six points since in consecutive losses to Osborne and Sylvan-Lucas Unified.
• Stockton (2-2) – Stockton opened the season with two close wins including a 9-8 victory over Palco on a game winning field go and a 33-30 win over Northern Valley, but the past two weeks the Tigers have struggled in district contests with Osborne and Sylvan-Lucas Unified losing by a combined score of 100-6.
• WaKeeney-Trego (1-3) – The change to 8-Man helped the Golden Eagles break a 10 game losing streak with a season opening 38-28 win over Ness City. Will Papes has rushed for 279 yards and three touchdowns for Trego while Cameron Staples has added 251 yards rushing in three more scores.

• Lincoln (3-1) – Lincoln's spread attack came alive in the fourth quarter of a week two loss to rival Sylvan-Lucas Unified as sophomore QB Dayton Walter and senior running back Brady Coover helped the Leopards rally from a 20-point third quarter deficit to nearly upset the Mustangs. Since that two-point loss the Leopards have scored 84 and 46 points in their last two victories.
• Little River (3-1) – Veteran coach Shane Cordell retired with over 200 wins and three state titles. New coach Paul Dold welcomed six starters back from last year's 5-4 squad and the new coach and his team have started strong improving to 3-1 with last week's 32-24 win over Solomon.
• Peabody-Burns (2-2) – Peabody-Burns made the switch to 8-Man this season and have enjoyed highs and lows in their four games so far. The Warriors are 2-2 with dominant wins against Wakefield and Canton-Galva and big losses to top 8-Man Division II opponents Centre-Lost Springs and Hope.
• Goessel (1-3) – After six consecutive seasons of playoff caliber football the Goessel Bluebirds have fallen on hard times opening the 2010 season 1-3 and surrendering 66, 48 and 84 points in three consecutive losses before posting a 60-58 win over Claflin last week.
• Solomon (1-3) – Solomon made the switch to 8-Man this season and already has experienced something they hadn't in the previous 11-games, a 28-8 win over White City September 10. John Aylward has been the bulk of the offense for the Gorillas rushing for 470 yards and 5 touchdowns including 209 yards and three scores in last week's narrow loss to Little River.
• Canton-Galva (1-3) – Canton-Galva opened the season with a 60-14 win over Central Christian, but has allowed at least 46 points in three consecutive losses including district losses to Peabody-Burns (69-24) and Lincoln (46-0).
• Claflin (0-4) – Perhaps the biggest surprise of the season in 8-Man play has been the 0-4 start of perennial power Claflin. The Wildcats are in their final season of play before joining with Quivira Heights in 2010. The Wildcats dropped a heartbreaker last week to Goessel, 60-58.
