Tanner Brunner, QB, Centre-Lost Springs
Brunner and the Cougars will look to rebound from last year's four overtime, 30-24, loss to rival Hope. Brunner has already been exposing opposing defenses with his legs and his arm through two weeks and he should have another big night in such a big game, but will it be enough to beat the Lions traditional 8-Man powerhouse.
Cameron Craig, WR/ATH, Coffeyville-Field Kindley
Featured on the cover of this year’s Kansas Pregame Magazine, Craig is without a doubt one of the state’s most talented players. Thus far this season, he’s been limited in touches as the ‘Nado break in a young quarterback. Last week at Fort Scott, Craig caught six passes for 124 yards and a score. He has also been getting a couple carries a game out of the Wildcat formation, but has to touch the ball more if Coffeyville is to shake off an 0-2 start. Look for Craig to get the ball a lot this week against an Iola defense that has given up 124 points in two games.
Guy Fullmer, RB, Dighton
Fullmer is among the state’s leading rushers after a 256 yard performance last week in a 40-36 shootout win over Golden Plains. Fullmer has adjusted nicely to the 8-man game in accumulating 392 rushing yards while averaging over ten yards per carry thus far. Last season, Fullmer rushed for more than 1,300 yards a year ago in Class 3A for Ness City-Dighton.
Michael Glatczak, QB, Centralia
After an all-state caliber season as a wide receiver last fall, Michael was moved by his head coach and father, Larry, to quarterback this fall in order to replace his older brother Tyler. The younger Glatczak has responded in leading an inexperienced group of Panthers to a split in their first two games against 3A and 4A competition. Michael rushed for four touchdowns last week in Centralia’s narrow 44-40 loss to Concordia.
