The Kansas Helmet Project is helping to fill the "no sports" void by conducting a contest to determine the best football helmet design in Kansas!

Championship -
1st Place - Pratt Greenbacks -- 910 votes
2nd Place - Wellsville Eagles -- 723 votes
3rd Place - Prairie View Buffaloes -- 601 votes
4th Place - Labette County Grizzlies -- 293 votes
ABOUT THE CONTEST
The Selection Committee chose 15 schools each from the following groups:
- Group 1 - 8-Man, Class 1A, Class 2A
- Group 2 - Class 3A, Class 4A
- Group 3 - Class 5A, Class 6A
Total votes then decided the seeding. In the end, there was a tie between 23 schools for the final four spots in the bracket. Those were placed in a "play-in" vote which decided the final four helmets.
Most seeds were randomly assigned and the region in which each school was placed in was also selected at random.
The seeds are as follows:

- No. 2 Seeds: KC Piper, Basehor-Linwood, Gardner-Edgerton, Emporia
- No. 3 Seeds: Garden City, Blue Valley Northwest, Pratt, Prairie View
- No. 4 Seeds: Spring Hill, Belle Plaine, Beloit, Great Bend
- No. 5 Seeds: Haysville-Campus, Fredonia, Holcomb, Hutchinson
- No. 6 Seeds: Labette County, Wellsville, Ark City, Blue Valley Southwest
- No. 7 Seeds: Chapman, Southeast-Cherokee, Eureka, Lawrence Free State
- No. 8 Seeds: Towanda-Circle, Hays, Lansing, Lyndon
- No. 9 Seeds: Columbus, Erie, Inman, Topeka High
- No. 10 Seeds: St. James Academy, Sterling, Uniontown, Bishop Carroll
- No. 11 Seeds: Andover Central, Clifton-Clyde, Eisenhower, Ell-Saline
- No. 12 Seeds: Cheney, Concordia, Herington, Leavenworth
- No. 13 Seeds: Louisburg, Olathe East, Sedgwick, Thunder Ridge
