We start off the Kansas high school football season this week with jamborees. In April, the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) voted to allow jamborees as an option in place of the traditional intrasquad scrimmages that schools held in the past.

The jamboree format is a full-contact scrimmage against as many as two or three other opponents. Teams are limited to 36 total offensive plays, or 12 plays against each opponent in the case of a four-team jamboree.
