Two pre-season specials kick off the ninth season of The Scoreboard Show on Smoky Hills Public Television this week.

Smoky Hills Public Television will broadcast a total of four 30-minute specials, showcasing high school football teams throughout central and western Kansas.

The first two specials will air Friday, August 20. The Northwest Region will be highlighted at 10:30 p.m. and the South Central Region at 11:00 p.m. The program is a panel discussion that predicts which teams they feel will finish at the top of their leagues and be state contenders.

Panel participants are John Baetz, publisher of Kansas Pregame, the official print partner of Kpreps.com, the state's only, comprehensive preseason high school and college football magazine, Rich Epp, sports broadcaster for Kansas high schools and colleges, James Westling, program director of 92.7 The Fan Salina's sports talk radio, and Larry Jantz, Kansas high school official, former coach, and sports broadcaster for Smoky Hills Public Television.

Together, Baetz and Westling will also host the upcoming Kansas Pregame Radio Show powered by Kpreps. The hour long pregame show will air on 15 stations in Kansas with the first episode slated for September 3.
