Class 8-Man I:

District 1 – The West Elk Patriots are the District 1 champions and have qualified for the state playoffs for the first time since 2008. West Elk defeated South Haven 44-42 in overtime back in Week 4.  South Haven has won the runner-up spot having already claimed head-to-head wins over Oxford and Sedan.

West Elk @ Oxford, Central Burden @ South Haven, Cedar Vale-Dexter @ Udall, Sedan @ Burlingame (ND)

District 2 – Marais des Cygnes Valley has claimed the District 2 title having posted blowout wins over Uniontown and Yates Center.  The Eagles and Wildcats will meet this week in Uniontown to decide the second playoff spot.  A win would allow Yates Center to reach the postseason for the first time since 1990.

Pleasanton @ Marais Des Cygnes Valley, Yates Center @ Uniontown, St. Paul @ Marmaton Valley

District 3 – This district got turned upside down last week with Peabody-Burns’ upset of top-ranked Madison.  Now it is relatively simple.  Four teams are tied atop the district standings at 4-1 and all four teams square off this week with the winners advancing to the playoffs. Madison will host Centre-Lost Springs, while Peabody-Burns travels to Lebo. If Madison and Peabody-Burns win, then the Warriors would be the district champions with Madison going as the runner-up. If Madison and Lebo win, the Bulldogs are the champions with Lebo getting the second spot. If Centre and Peabody-Burns both win, Centre is the champions and Peabody the runner-up.  Finally, if Centre and Lebo win then the Wolves are the champs while Centre goes as the runner-up.

      Hartford @ Flinthills, Centre-Lost Springs @ Madison, Peabody-Burns @ Lebo, Sedan @ Burlingame (ND)

District 4 – District 4 has already been decided as the new No. 1 Osborne won the district championship by virtue of their 80-32 win over Clifton-Clyde.  The Eagles are the runners-up and back in the playoffs for the first time since 2010.

Rock Hills @ Osborne, Pike Valley @ Linn, Lakeside @ Wakefield, Clifton-Clyde vs. Wichita Word of Life (ND)

District 5 – Central Plains put up 86 points in beating Solomon by 46 last week to claim the district championship.  Solomon has qualified as the runner-up.

Little River @ Central Plains, Solomon @ Pretty Prairie, Lincoln @ Canton-Galva

District 6 – Kiowa County is the District 6 champion by virtue of their 32-18 win over South Central. The Timberwolves qualify as the runner-up as they edged Fairfield 30-26 back in Week 4. South Central returns to the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

Kiowa Co. @ St. John, Skyline @ Kinsley, Fairfield @ Macksville, South Central vs. Windsor Hills Baptist (Okla.)

District 7 – Hodgeman County has clinched one of the playoff spots because even with a 21-point loss to South Gray forcing a three-way tie the Longhorns will remain among the top two teams in district points. Hodgeman County hosts South Gray, while Spearville hosts Minneola.  If Spearville beats the Wildcats, the Royal Lancers will qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2008. South Gray needs a win and a Spearville loss to reach the playoffs.

District 8 – Atwood-Rawlins County and Hoxie will square off in Atwood to decide the District 8 championship.  Last season, Hoxie beat the Buffaloes 54-8 in Week 9 to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2007.  Rawlins County has clinched its first playoff appearance since 2010.

Goessel @ Hope, Tescott @ Southern Cloud, Chase @ White City, Argonia-Attica @ Burrton (ND)

District 3 – Waverly can clinch the district title with a win at Southern Coffey County.  Meanwhile, the Titans can clinch a playoff spot by beating Waverly by 20 or more points.  Chetopa can ensure a playoff spot by beating winless Elk Valley by 19 or more points or with a Waverly win.

Waverly @ Southern Coffey Co., Elk Valley @ Chetopa, Colony-Crest @ Tyro Christian (ND)

District 4 – South Barber is the District 4 champion as even a loss to winless Cunningham in Week 9 would allow the Chieftains to take the head-to-head tie-breaker over Stafford.  Stafford advances as the runner-up and is back in the playoffs for the first time since 1990.

Cunningham @ South Barber, Norwich @ Caldwell, Sunrise Christian @ Stafford (ND), Argonia-Attica @ Burrton (ND)

District 5 – Beloit St. John’s-Tipton is the district champion after beating Thunder Ridge 42-38 during district play.  The Blujays have reached the playoffs for consecutive seasons now for the first time since qualifying three straight years from 2007 to 2009. Should the Jackrabbits pull off the upset, a three-way tie could ensue if Triplains-Brewster beats Cheylin.  The runner-up would then be decided by the team with the highest cumulative district points.

Wheatland-Grinnell @ Wallace Co., Weskan @ Greeley Co., Cheylin @ Triplains, No.Valley @ Golden Plains (ND)

District 7 – Victoria is the district champions having rolled through the district schedule. The Knights host Wilson this week.  Otis-Bison will host Sylvan-Lucas Unified in a key district game that will go a long way in deciding the runner-up spot.  Sylvan-Lucas clinches the second playoff spot with a win. Dighton is also in the mix should Otis-Bison win this week as long as the Hornets take care of Western Plains

        Wilson @ Victoria, Sylvan-Lucas Unified @ Otis-Bison, Western Plains @ Dighton

District 8 – Fowler has qualified as the district champion and will close out the regular season at Ashland.  Ingalls has earned the second playoff spot thanks to close wins over Moscow (20-12) and Rolla (14-6).
