Central Plains completes historic season with 8M-I title

The Central Plains Oilers used another dominating defensive performance on Saturday in beating Solomon, 52-6. The Oilers held Solomon to minus-23 yards on 24 plays. For the season, Central Plains allowed 34 total points. [READ]

Derby wins 6A title over Blue Valley North, 24-16

In a rematch of the 2017 Class 6A title game, Derby flipped the script in beating Blue Valley North, 24-16 on Saturday. Blue Valley North won the state title last season, 49-42. [READ]

Aquinas runs past Northwest to capture first state title

St. Thomas Aquinas captured the schools' first state football championship with a 49-28 victory over Wichita Northwest on Saturday. The Saints rushed for 360 yards including 329 yards and four touchdowns from sophomore Tank Young. [READ]

Bishop Miege won its fifth straight state championship on Saturday with a 69-31 win over Goddard. [READ]

Sabetha tops Pratt 43-42 in OT on Garber's two-point try

Sabetha won a second consecutive state championship by beating Pratt, 43-42 in OT. Gabe Garber scored the winning two-point conversion with a dive at the pylon to give the Bluejays the overtime win. [READ]

Phillipsburg won its second state football championship with a 27-0 shutout of Riley County on Saturday in Salina. [READ]

Smith Center’s Rushing Trio leads to 1A State Title
